About Me
I am a seasoned Project Manager with a comprehensive background in the nonprofit sector, supporting disaster response and recovery. My work at Disaster Services Corporation - Society of St. Vincent de Paul USA (SVDP-USA) spans marketing, communications, and program management, with a specific focus on enhancing operational efficiency and building strong relationships with stakeholders.

My Current Role
At Disaster Services Corporation, SVDP-USA, I serve as the Project Management Officer, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. I lead and support various marketing, communications, and advancement initiatives, overseeing the national House in a Box™ program and managing the organization's internal grant program. I also provide support with special projects within the Disaster Case Management Programs. My role involves close collaboration with leadership teams across diverse departments to improve processes and increase brand visibility.

Previous Experience

  • Director of Outreach, Disaster Services Corporation, SVDP-USA (Jun 2018 - Sep 2021): I supported the COO in marketing, communications, volunteer management, and fundraising projects, contributing to the success of various initiatives.
  • Deputy Director, Disaster Services Corporation, SVDP-USA (Jul 2016 - Jun 2018): I was responsible for managing marketing and communications, business operations, and volunteer deployments. I worked closely with FEMA, the American Red Cross, and other partners, supporting disaster recovery programs like House in a Box®.
  • National Convention Development Manager, Various Organizations: My role involved promoting cities and convention centers, leading strategic partnerships, public relations, conducting contract negotiations, leveraging tax incentives, contributing to the growth of local economies.

Education
I hold a Master's degree in Public Administration with a focus on State and Local Government from Central Michigan University (2019 - 2022). My Bachelor's degree in Applied Arts, Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Studies and a Minor in Marketing (2004 - 2007) from Central Michigan University has equipped me with skills in commercial recreation, facility management, and marketing. I recently earned a Project Management Professional Certification through the Project Management Institute (Sept 2024).

Other Roles and Achievements
I am an MPA Alumni Advisory Board Member at Central Michigan University. Before joining the nonprofit sector, I served as Afloat Recreation Director on the USS Enterprise (CVN-65), where I managed a recreation program for a military community during deployment and port operations.
