Disaster Services Corporation is pleased to announce a noteworthy achievement in our Disaster Case Management Program (DCMP). We are proud to share that we have secured the contract for the Maui Wildfire Disaster Case Management program, reflecting our commitment to excellence in disaster case management services. In collaboration with the Department of Human Services (DHS), Disaster Services Corporation, St. Vincent DePaul, brings its expertise to elevate and strengthen our services, ensuring enhanced support for survivors of disasters.
What is the DHS Disaster Case Management Program?
The DHS DCMP is a time-limited Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)-funded initiative designed to connect survivors of disasters with specially trained case managers. These case managers assess and address the unique needs of each survivor household, developing a personalized disaster recovery plan. The program works tirelessly to connect survivors with referrals for resources, identify decision-making priorities, and provide guidance and tools for a successful recovery.
Expanding Services for Wildfire Survivors
The DHS DCMP is an expansion of the current interim DCMP. The $17.2M FEMA grant will fund a comprehensive program, including 36 Disaster Case Managers (DCMs) across the four CBOs. These DCMs will serve as survivors' "quarterback" for the next 2-5 years, assisting them in developing unique and comprehensive recovery plans.
Key Dates of the DCMP Application Process:
September 20, 2023 – Grant application submitted by DHS.
November 13, 2023 – Interim DCMP launched.
November 17, 2023 – Grant approval by FEMA received.
February 21, 2024 – DHS DCMP launch.
Period of performance – August 10, 2023 – August 10, 2025.
Our Services
Our Disaster Case Management for Disaster Recovery is a free service that pairs individuals or households with trained Disaster Case Managers (DCMs) for personalized assistance. DCMs perform assessments of needs and help access eligible resources, advocating on behalf of survivors with FEMA, insurance companies, the Small Business Administration (SBA), and other disaster-related services
