Brian Burgess is Liaison to National Subsidiaries for the National Council of the United States, Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Brian also serves as the Chairman for the Board of Directors for the Disaster Services Corporation SVDP-USA (DSC). Brian has been a Vincentian for over 20 years and has served in multiple roles including Diocesan Council President, Conference President, District Council Vice President, mentor, and Peer Review Committee member. He attended the Society’s leadership program, Invitation for Renewal, in 2010.
Brian has over 30 years of experience in the Information Technology (IT) domain and has worked at Praeses, a privately-owned technology company based in Shreveport, LA, since 2006. His current role is as Program Manager with primary responsibilities in customer relations and PM oversight for the Department of Defense (DoD)-related research project portfolio at Praeses. Prior to his current role, Brian served as Project Manager concentrating on software development activities for a large defense contractor building ships for the Navy and Coast Guard.
Prior to working at Praeses, Brian worked in IT at Louisiana Downs Racetrack & Casino for 14 years, followed by a two-year stint as a regional GM for United Tote. Brian also serves as President of the Red River Regional Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA).
A native of Bossier City, LA, Brian received his B.S. in Physics from LSU-Baton Rouge in 1983 and M.S. in Systems Technology from LSU-Shreveport in 1990. He is the proud father of daughter Kristen and grandfather of Henry and Hayden.
